PGMA swears in new officers of KBP

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo today administered the oath of office to the newly elected officers of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) led by its chairman Ruperto Nicdao Jr. of the Manila Broadcasting Company in simple ceremonies held at the Kalayaan Lounge of the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing in Pasay City.


Other KBP officers and board of trustees inducted by the President include the following:
Butch Canoy (Radio Mindanao Network) - Vice Chairman
Herman Basbaño (Bombo Radyo Phils.) - President
Alfredo Henares (Progressive Broadcasting Corp.) - Executive Vice President
Antonio Ventosa (Amcara Broadcasting Network, Inc.) - Vice President Television
Manny Luzon (Ultrasonic Broadcasting System, Inc.) - Vice President Research and Development
Fr. Manuel Bongayan (Radio Veritas Global Broadcasting System) - Treasurer

After the oath-taking rites, the President joined them in a luncheon which she hosted for them.

February 22 declared special holiday for schools

It will be a special holiday in all schools on Monday, February 22, as the country commemorates the 24th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9492, all holidays except those which are religious in nature, are moved to the nearest Monday unless otherwise modified by law, order or proclamation.

In July last year, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo signed Proclamation No. 1841 declaring the regular holidays, special (non-working) days, and special holidays (for all schools) for the year 2010.

Under the proclamation, February 22, or the Monday nearest February 25, is a special holiday to serve as an "inspiration to all Filipinos everywhere as we continue to chart our collective course as a nation and as a people."

The country yearly celebrates the February 25, 1986 People Power Revolution which restored basic liberties such as free speech, freedom of assembly, and a free press after 14 years of Martial rule.

For 24 years,serving 10 years in service as a all around helper,5 years in helping baking experience,and a successful store owner,a writer,a inventor of the economic tool guides made from brown paper,and owns a major production in the citizen’s social responsibility(CSR).

Kasama,Kapanalig,at Kabalikat ng bawat mamamayang Pilipino ang iaalay ng bawat repormang nakasasalalay natin ang kapakanan ng ating sambayanang Pilipino at buhayin natin ang Pilipinas.Narito ang 12 sandigan ng “BUHAYIN NATIN”
