18 canned meat products melamine free

MANILA, Philippines -- At least 18 canned meat products tested negative for melamine, the Department of Health announced Monday.
The DOH said the products were tested by the Bureau of Food and Drugs.
When asked why some of the products were also tested for melamine even if these did not come from China, Health Secretary Francisco Duque told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview, “We just wanted to make sure that these meat products do not contain melamine. [The other meat products might also be imported].”
